How to Install a DSTV Dish on Your Own
There is no harm in doing it yourself, but it is always preferable to hire a group of professionals or just one person to install your DSTV dish and set it up properly. Since that expert won’t be around constantly in case something goes wrong or your dish has to be modified, learning to do it yourself will certainly benefit you.
Additionally, even if you’re only verifying that the professional does it correctly, at times doing it yourself will provide you greater assurance that it will be done correctly.
Step one – Mount the dish properly

Four cement screws are included with your DSTV dish when you receive it. Drilling four holes into the antenna mast’s base will be the first stage. This is important for the mounting location, which requires an unhindered view looking toward the eastern sky. These cement screws will then be inserted into the holes that have been drilled.

The antenna assembly of the dish will be placed atop its pole after the screws have been fitted into the holes. Make sure to line with the upper portion of the mast’s pole and pay attention to the center of the mast that must be clamped on the back of the dish. To keep the mast clamp firmly in place, you now need to tighten the two screws on it.

After inserting the RG-6 coaxial cable into the appropriate section of the dish, insert the other end into the port of the decoder, also referred to as the satellite receiver, that is attached to your TV.
Step two – Align the DSTV dish correctly

Make sure the dish is pointed in the right direction by using a sat meter.

It is possible to alter the elevation on the side. You’ll notice degree markings. Marking it between 36 and 39 degrees would be the best option.

Examine the dish and set the LNB to point at four o’clock. To get the best signal quality, keep testing it.
Step three – Make sure everything is stable and have fun.
